Virgin Blue vrs Qantas

Cost in total with one checked in luggage:
- Qantas: $96.70
- Virgin Blue: $78.00
Plane experience: Qantas here win hands down. 1st is Qantas’s complementary food. Whist its still plane food, it is more than adequate. What a pity that i spill gravy all over myself. With virgin blue you get nothing.
2nd The Qantas plane feels smoother and nicer. The take off was smooth, same with landing. But with virgin it was rough and the plane actually rattles during takeoff.
Conclusion:
I know both Qantas and Virgin blue caters to different markets. Qantas is seen as more business orientated and Virgin blue as the no frills carrier. However, due to the minimal cost difference ($18.7), there is no reason to fly Virgin blue at all.What you get is a vastly better flying experience which far exceeds the extra cost
